Wood Polymer (or Plastic) Composite

The first rigid core flooring to appear on the market, the core of WPC flooring is made up of wood or wood-like materials, a foaming agent and other PVC fillers.

Stone Polymer (or Plastic) Composite

Considered to be an upgrade to WPC, SPC flooring is made up of limestone and PVC fillers. SPC flooring is denser and more durable compared to WPC.

Application of Spc Rigid Core Flooring

Kitchens

If your kitchen sees lots of traffic, consider choosing Spc rigid core flooring. You can always purchase an anti-fatigue mat to place over the areas you stand the most for added comfort.

Bathrooms

Because of its waterproof capabilities, Spc rigid core flooring is a great option for providing a gorgeous, realistic wood or stone look in your bathroom.

Basements

Many basements are prone to water damage so waterproof rigid core flooring is a great option. Additionally, you typically don't spend as much time standing in a basement so the lower resiliency isn't a big drawback.

Commercial and high-traffic areas

It's perfect for commercial areas that see a lot of traffic. It's also extremely popular in grocery stores and other environments where spills happen frequently.

SPC rigid core flooring suits

Babies and young children

Babies and young children: Babies and young children often have skin contact with the floor. High-quality SPC stone-plastic floor provides the 100% safe, non-toxic floor environment for babies and young children.

Elderly

As human body function declines with age, the risk of falling for the elderly becomes relatively higher, so the anti-slip level of the floor must be considered when choosing a floor. SPC flooring with good slip resistance is a good choice. Compared with the tile floor, the SPC floor feels more comfortable under the feet. It has a good resilience to the impact, and greatly reduces the impact force on the elderly and children when they fall.

Pets

Floors in homes with pets must be scratch-resistant, water-resistant, non-slip, and easy to clean. SPC stone-plastic floor is wear-resistant, scratch-resistant, waterproof, non-slip and easy to clean and maintain. It is the best choice for families with pets.

How to Maintain Spc Rigid Core Flooring

Dry & Wet Cleaning

Always remove dirt, grit, etc. from the floor to avoid scratching.

Vacuum with a hard floor attachment – do not use a rotary brush vacuum.

Dry mop daily (more often if needed).

Clean up spills immediately or risk permanent staining.

Periodic wet cleaning is necessary to help maintain the floor's appearance. Always pre-vacuum or dust mop before wet cleaning. Use a microfiber mop pad with a pH neutral cleaner. Abrasive or chemical cleaners will damage the vinyl.

Do not use Vinegar, "Mop and Shine" products, Soap Based Detergents or Oil Soaps, Abrasive Cleaners or Compounds, Floor Wax, Vacuum with a rotating beater bar, One-step cleaner/polishes, Steam mops, Harsh scouring or buffing pads or tools.

Do not soak or saturate the floor.

Do not wax or refinish the SPC.

General SPC Protection

Always lift and carry furniture – do not drag furniture or heavy items across the floor.

Use wide floor protectors (furniture cups/felt pads) under chairs, tables, and heavy objects.

Use mats outside of entranceways to trap dirt, sand, asphalt, driveway sealer, grit, oil, etc.

Mats placed on SPC should not have rubber or latex backing to prevent discoloration.

Window coverings are necessary in direct sunlight, as SPC may discolor or buckle under prolonged exposure to the sun.

Avoid the use of stiletto heels on your floor as they can cause permanent damage.

Cover SPC flooring near fireplaces and open flame sources and near any extremely hot items.

FAQ

Q: Is rigid core flooring the same as SPC flooring?

A: Rigid-core luxury vinyl flooring, also known as SPC flooring, is the most durable waterproof vinyl flooring option on the market. It has a similar construction to WPC, but it comes with an ultra-tough core, which is where the name "rigid core" comes from.

Q: Is SPC flooring better than vinyl?

A: Due to its stone polymer core, SPC flooring tends to be more resilient, durable and dent-resistant than traditional vinyl. Because PVC-core luxury vinyl is softer and more pliable, it's often more susceptible to wear and tear. Heavy furniture can dent this material more easily.

Q: Which is better, SPC flooring or wood flooring?

A: Wood and stone, in all its natural ways, are quite hard to maintain. In comparison, SPC flooring gives you a great benefit - low maintenance but the same result! All in all, SPC flooring is indeed a superb choice for those who need long-lasting as well as high-quality products for their properties in the long run.

Q: Which is better, WPC or SPC?

A: SPC flooring is thinner than WPC floors. SPC floors are more resistant to dents and drops than WPC flooring. WPC flooring is thicker and more comfortable underfoot because of its foaming agents. WPC flooring feels warmer than SPC and is good at absorbing sound.

Q: Which is better, laminate or SPC flooring?

A: SPC flooring is an all-weather friend; it's built to handle spills, splashes, and humidity without batting an eye. Laminate, while stylish and versatile, prefers to stay in the drier areas of your home. It can handle the occasional spill, but too much moisture? That's a party it'd rather skip.

Q: How long can SPC flooring last?

A: When properly installed and maintained, SPC flooring can last anywhere from 10 to 25 years. The superior durability of SPC, coupled with its resistance to moisture, stains, and wear, contributes to a longer lifespan compared to many traditional flooring options.

Q: What thickness of SPC flooring is best?

A: When it comes to SPC flooring, striking that perfect balance is like creating a masterpiece. Think of it as a delicate waltz between durability and elegance, where each step counts. In the realm of thickness, 3mm to 6mm emerges as the canvas for creativity.

Q: Can I use SPC flooring in kitchen?

A: It is a pretty simple answer for us: yes! SPC flooring is one of the best choices you can make when renovating or installing your kitchen. Since we love making your life easier, we've put together a list of reasons why SPC flooring should be your next choice.

Q: Is SPC flooring slippery?

A: Residential Sanctuaries: Anti-slip SPC flooring, with its non-slippery nature, ensures safety in every footstep, even in the chaos of playdates or pet antics.

Q: Is SPC better than luxury vinyl?

A: SPC is generally more durable with a longer lifespan and better resistance to dents, scratches, and impact. LVP is also durable but typically has a shorter lifespan and is less resistant to dents and scratches compared to SPC.

Q: Is SPC flooring noisy?

A: Every step on SPC floors is a stealthy dance, with noise disappearing into a soft whisper. This technological wonder goes beyond conventional flooring as it provides not only a surface but a sanctuary of silence. Consider a hospital in which footsteps are soft, chatter is low.

Q: Does SPC flooring crack?

A: Some people doubt one's durability, whether it can survive the typical wear and tear and is not easily prone to cracking. However, the qualms being raised here are mostly baseless. Innovative Composition: SPC flooring which is made of limestone and stabilizers makes it extremely strong and flexible.

Q: Does SPC flooring scratch easily?

A: SPC flooring is dense and resilient in nature that is not prone to damage. Each flooring is designed in a way it is scratch resistant the day it is installed on the floor. Not just scratch resistant, SPC flooring is also waterproof, stain resistant and easy to clean and maintain.

Q: Can you mop SPC flooring?

A: Excess Moisture: SPC floor is water resistant but anything in over amount can cause harm for sure. We recommend not using an extreme wet mop while cleaning the SPC floor that can cause damage in the long run, instead use a damp mop so that you can clean it and water will not enter the SPC plank.

Q: Is SPC better than tiles?

A: While ceramic tiles can offer some level of water resistance, they cannot compare to the complete waterproof nature of SPC tiles. SPC tiles have 100% waterproof capabilities. This makes them ideal for areas prone to moisture, such as bathrooms and kitchens.

Q: Is SPC flooring water proof?

A: SPC's 100% waterproof construction makes it ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, basements, or any area prone to spills and moisture. This means no concerns about warping or water damage, even in humid climates.

Q: How do I choose SPC floor color?

A: Consider Lighting. If your home has natural lights, you may choose the bright colors of SPC flooring, whereas if your home has more artificial lights then you may choose the darker colors to make you feel cozier. If you have fancy lighting at home, we would suggest going with a darker shade of SPC Flooring.

Q: Is SPC flooring good for residential?

A: SPC rigid core flooring has gained attention for its ability to withstand heavy foot traffic and environmental stressors. This makes it a preferred choice for both residential and commercial spaces.

Q: Is rigid core the same as SPC?

A: Rigid core luxury vinyl is a glueless format with a click locking installation system. Two types of rigid core luxury vinyl are Stone Plastic Composite (SPC) and Wood Plastic Composite (WPC).

Q: Is SPC flooring flexible?

A: Most of the differences between traditional SPCs and LVTs are the construction of each flooring type. Vinyl flooring has a simple PVC backing that is soft and flexible. On the other hand, SPC floors have a composite stone and plastic backing, which makes the floors less malleable and structurally less rigid.
